The Tony Award-winning musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, will come alive on the Huntington High School stage this weekend on Friday, April 5, at 7:30pm and Saturday, April 6 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm.  Originally based on the 1967 film, the stage production takes the audience back in time to the roaring 1920s in New York City when jazz, flappers, and short bob haircuts were all the rage. A Kansas girl, Millie Dillmount, has come to New York to find a new life for herself and possibly a wealthy husband.  However, this “modern” plan doesn’t exactly work the way she intended. This charming musical comedy is filled with merriment, tap dancing and some of the best musical vocal arrangements ever to hit the stage. Don’t miss this electrifying and lively performance! Huntington High School Auditorium, 188 Oakwood Rd, Huntington, NY 11743, General admission $10 (sold at door)/ $5 students with ID, Saturday Matinee ONLY: FREE for Seniors (65+).

Directed by Mr. Schwendemann and assisted by student director Maddie Haughwout, the cast features Abby Semelsberger as Millie Dilmount, Keenan Lyons as Jimmy Smith, Isabella Cahill as Miss Dorothy, Robert Jean-Gilles as Trevor Graydon, Chloe Wheeler as Muzzy Van Hossmere, and Phoebe Walther as Mrs. Meers. Other featured roles include Ching Ho played by Cobin Black and Bun Foo played by Brenden Garcia as well as Katherine Eichenberger as Miss Flannery.

The cast also includes the Hotel Priscilla Girls (Sarah Biernacki, Francesca Greco, Lauren Holly, Jenny Low, Catherine McCooey, Hannah Roberts); Josh Avidor as George Gershwin; Faith Youngquist as Dorothy Parker; and the Letch, played by Josh Youngquist.
