Shots Fired in Huntington Station Last Night

suffolk police car Last night, shots were fired in Huntington Station in two different locations a few hours apart. At around 8:00pm, a man was shot in the LIRR commuter parking lot, New York Avenue.

Jose Jurado, 20, of Huntington Station, was walking through the LIRR parking lot when a man stepped out of a vehicle, pointed a gun at Jurado, and shot him in the foot.

Jurado fled and made his way to a local 7-Eleven on New York Avenue where someone called 911. Jurado was transported by ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he is listed in stable condition.

A separate report of shots fired in Huntington Station occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m on Saturday night.

Jose Campos, 53, and a friend were standing in the driveway of a residence located at 24 East 6th Street when shots were fired in the direction of the home. Several bullets struck the house and other bullets hit a vehicle that was in the driveway of the house next door. An eight-year-old child who was sleeping in the back seat of the vehicle at the time was not injured.

The investigation is continuing for both incidents. Detectives are asking anyone with information about either of these incidents to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
