50th Anniversary Celebration of the Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival

HAC SummerFestival_Logo300correct colorsThe Huntington Arts Council is proud to host the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival on Saturday, June 27, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Join the Board of Directors as we celebrate 50 years of the Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival and honor Sandy Chapin with the “Huntington Arts Council Harry and Sandy Chapin Arts & Humanitarian Award.” The award is being presented to Sandy in recognition of her decades of advocacy for the arts, commitment to arts education including the founding of the Huntington Arts Council JOURNEY program and her ongoing dedication as our Arts in Education Chairperson
This event is being held on Saturday, June 27 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at The Heckscher Museum of Art during the opening weekend of the annual Summer Arts Festival. In attendance will be the HAC Board and staff, Sandy Chapin, her family and local town officials. Tickets are $100 per person and  reservations are required by June 17. To purchase tickets go to the  Huntington Arts Council website or call 631-271-8423. The celebration will be directly followed by a concert featuring The Chapin Family; Harry’s daughter Jen, his brothers Tom and Steve, and their daughters and son. The concert will take place on the The Chapin Rainbow Stage in Heckscher Park. Reserved VIP seating for this performance is included with the purchase of a ticket. Proceeds from this event help support our mission to enrich the quality of life of Long Islanders with programs and services that address the needs and interests of artists, cultural organizations and the community.
Since its inception in 1966 the Summer Arts Festival has grown into a cultural icon representative of summertime in Huntington. It’s a 40-night compilation of the best artists available on a local, national and global basis. The schedule of FREE performances combine a wide array of musical genres from folk, jazz, classical to contemporary. In the vein of  “something for everyone” dance, theatre and family shows are also an integral part of this diverse list of entertainment. Shows begin at 8:30 pm, except the Tuesday night family series which starts at 7:30 pm. The complete calendar of performances can be found on our website
The Huntington Summer Arts Festival is produced by the Town of Huntington and presented by the Huntington Arts Council. Our presenting sponsor is Canon USA.The festival is also supported by Suffolk County, and  New York State Council on the Arts.
