Contingency Plan for Huntington Commuters With LIRR Strike in Forecast

HuntingtonTrainStationWith the LIRR strike in the forecast, Legislator William Spencer joins state and local leaders to call on the MTA to provide shuttle bus services for Huntington commuters. “With no settlement in sight, a contingency plan to best meets the needs of Long Island commuters is a must. The current plan for shuttle buses misses the mark; it is inadequate for Suffolk County and non-existent for the Town of Huntington. With little time left, the MTA needs to provide the ample services for our large commuter population,” stated Legislator William Spencer, M.D.

Legislator Spencer, joined by state and local leaders, calls on the MTA to provide shuttle buses for Huntington Commuters. The following will meet in a conference today at the Huntington Train Station: New York State Senator Carl Marcellino; New York State Assemblyman Andrew Raia; New York State Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci; Suffolk County Legislator Steve Stern; Suffolk County Legislator William R. Spencer; Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone; Huntington Town Councilwoman Susan Berland; Huntington Town Councilman Mark Cuthbertson; Huntington Town Councilwoman Tracey Edwards; Mark Epstein, Chairman of the LIRR Commuter Council; Representative, Huntington Chamber of Commerce; and Tawaun Weber, Assistant Director of Vision Long Island
