Matthew Pierce, Violinist/Composer, will perform at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, at The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington Village. Celebrate First Friday at the Museum: Explore the Museum’s exhibitions during extended viewing hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and enjoy unique musical performances inspired by artwork on view. Free Museum Admission.

Matthew Pierce is celebrated for his new classical scores commissioned by major American ballet companies. His work has been performed around the world including New York, London, and Paris. As a violinist, Pierce has performed on recordings by pop artists Jewel, Sheryl Crow, and Suzanne Vega and on Philip Glass’ score, Kundun. He is the conductor of the Matthew Pierce Ensemble and the Chamber Symphony of Five Towns College where he also teaches violin. The program will include some of Pierce’s original compositions.

    Matthew Pierce also shares his amazing talent with children. He participated in the String Festival in Huntington SD#3… Spending an entire day with string students from grades4-12. He also conducts for the wonderful Gemini Youth Orchestra.
    Gemini will play their final concert of the year at Adelphi University on Saturday, May 31st.
