Man Arrested for DWI with Six-Year-Old Daughter in Car after Causing Three-Car Crash in Huntington

Kyle Wilm was arrested for DWI last night in Huntington.

At 5:05 p.m. on Friday, May 24,  Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated with his daughter in the car after he caused a three-car crash this evening in Huntington.

Kyle Wilm was driving a 2005 Dodge Pickup on East Main Street when he hit the rear of a 2007 Ford SUV at 5:05 p.m. The SUV then hit into a 1999 Toyota. Second Precinct Police Officer Nicholas Guerrero responded and observed Wilm was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. Wilm’s 6-year-old daughter was in a booster seat in the backseat of the vehicle.

There were no injuries in the crash. Wilm’s vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Child Protective Services will be notified and the child was released to her mother.

Wilm, 41, of 27 Woodhollow Lane, Huntington, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 25.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
