A Women’s Health & Information Fair at The Dolan Center

Suffolk County Legislator William R. Spencer (D-Huntington), is hosting a Women’s Health & Information Fair that is free for all on Monday, March 18, in conjunction with Women’s History Month. This fair is designed for women from adolescents to seniors and all of those in-between.

“Women’s health is extremely important to all of us,” states Legislator Spencer.  “Often times, women are busy caring for their loved ones and less likely to care for themselves. They are our wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, friends and co-workers.  It is important that we do everything we can to support them and to ensure their good health and well-being.”

Representatives from more than 20 agencies will be provide vital information to women of all ages about issues relating to health care, education, anti-bullying, self-esteem, housing, internships and much more.

Five ½ hour workshops will be offered:

@ 3:15 pm – A Trip & Fall Prevention Workshop for Seniors

@ 4:15 pm – Diabetes Education & Prevention Workshop

@ 5:15 pm – Parenting Workshop

@ 6:15 pm – Body Image/ Eating Disorder Workshop

@ 7:15 pm – Smoking Cessation Workshop

“The Dolan Family Health Center is pleased to play a part in this important outreach event,” says Terence Smith, Administrator of the Dolan Center.  “The information that participating agencies will make available that day can truly benefit women of all ages who reside in our surrounding communities.  Huntington Hospital and the Dolan Family Health Center, as key healthcare providers in this region, are delighted to assist in making these resources available.”

Date: Monday, March 18, 2013

Time: 3:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Place: Dolan Family Health Center, 284 Pulaski Road, Greenlawn

“I sincerely hope that all women will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity,” adds Legislator Spencer. “The Fair is free and children are welcome. I look forward to seeing everyone there especially, all of the women residing in my Legislative District.”
