Actor Russell Crowe, who won the Academy Award for “Gladiator,” got lost kayaking in Huntington on Saturday. Crowe and a friend were picked up by a U.S. Coast Guard boat and taken with their kayaks to Huntington Harbor, said officials.
Crowe and his friend launched their kayaks from Cold Spring Harbor on Saturday afternoon. As it got dark, the two became lost and around 10 p.m., they called out to the U.S. Coast Guard patrolling the area. The Coast Guard officers gave them a ride, along with their kayaks, to Huntington Harbor. No one was injured and the two men were said to be wearing life vests.
Crowe is on Long Island filming a new movie called “Noah” in Oyster Bay, which is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
