Bus Accident on Wolf Hill Road, South Huntington, Leaves 5 Injured

Suffolk County Police were on the scene of the accident today on Wolf Hill Road.

A Wolf Hill Road school bus accident left five people injured today at around 2:45 p.m., three students and the driver of the bus as well as the driver of the car with which the bus collided. Students from St. Anthony’s were on the school bus when it collided with a car. The worst injuries were suffered by the driver of the car. Khaja Antesham, 24, was driving a 2010 Honda eastbound on Wolf Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle on a curved portion of the roadway by Saxon Avenue, and collided into the mini-bus, owned by Huntington Coach, 1359 New York Ave., Huntington Station. The bus was examined at the scene by the Motor Carrier Safety Section..

The driver of the mini-bus, Caroline Masten, 60, of Northport and her three passengers, ages 14-17, were all taken to Huntington Hospital via the Melville Fire Department. According to Suffolk County Police, the students’ injuries were minor, but all five were taken to Huntington Hospital.  Antesham, of 75 Irving Ave., Deer Park, was listed in critical condition with a broken neck, pelvis and head injuries. The driver of the bus, Masten, of Tudor Drive, Northport, sustained non-life threatening neck injuries and chest pains.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check.
