Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a Dix Hills man early this morning.
On Sunday, February 26, 2012 at approximately 4:15 a.m., Devin Wolcott was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra north on Sweet Hollow Road in Melville when he lost control of the vehicle, which then struck a tree on the west side of the road, ½ mile south of Chichester Road in Melville. Wolcott, 24, of 14 Pineland Court, Dix Hills, was transported by Melville Fire Department to Huntington Hospital where he was admitted with life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
