Suffolk County Police have arrested two men for a shooting that injured two teens at a house party in North Amityville on December 31. One of the teens was 16 years old and from Huntington Station; she was taken by ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. She is in serious but stable condition. The other teen is an 18 year old from Copiague who was struck in the calf and self-transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was treated and released.
First Squad detectives charged Nnamdi Ukasoanya, 19, of 264 Jefferson Ave., Amityville, and Rodney Wood, 19, of 71 Columbus Blvd., North Amityville, with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree. Ukasoanya and Wood are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
Five or six shots were said to have been fired into a group of people standing outside the North Amityville home at 12:15 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.
