This man demanded cash and had a gun at TD Bank, South Huntington, today.
Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the TD Bank branch, South Huntington.
A man entered the bank, located at 1040 Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 5 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash and threatening use of a gun. The teller complied with the demands and the man fled the scene on foot south on Dix Hills Road. The subject is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and was wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, dark sunglasses and a white Nike hat.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.

Why is it the Police are always asking for help. They have not solved any murders in Huntington in the last 2 years.

Clarity, please: the bank robber is “the real thief”. High interest rates are NOT the same as threatening violence and stealing. The police ask for help because it makes sense. Finally, this incident has nothing to do with Town board members (disappointing, but true). Perhaps more thoughtful, morally sound responses and fewer shoot-from-the-hip witticisms would help our town and our children.

I’m surprised by what I just read here. I know Steve from Babylon and he has done one of the best jobs of any supervisor in Babylon history. Suffolk would be lucky to see him as our next County Exec.

I just think he’s a great candidate. I’ve heard him speak in a few places now and really like his ideas and his concern and priority on environmental issues, public safety and taxes. I have friends who like Bellone and friends who like Carpenter. I just personally support Bellone.
