Huntington Attorney Arrested by SCPD

Suffolk County Police Department arrested a Huntington attorney this morning.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a Huntington attorney after he stole approximately $40,000 from one of his clients.

Following a lengthy investigation by Second Squad Detective Michael Mancusi, investigators were able to determine that Andrew Donner, 55, had defrauded one of his clients out of approximately $40,000 by taking funds from an escrow account.

Working as an attorney out of his home, Donner began conducting this scheme from the start of 2006 until August 2011.

Donner, of 45 Potter Lane, Huntington, was arrested this morning and charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree.

Detectives believe there are other clients of Donner who may have been defrauded. They are asking anyone who may have possibly lost funds to contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Economic Crimes Bureau at 631-853-5602.

Donner will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 30.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
