East Northport Man Arrested for Robbery And Attempted Grand Larceny

Christopher Cipoletti was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Attempted Grand Larceny 4th Degree.

Suffolk County Police reported yesterday’s arrest of Christopher Cipoletti, 26, of 308 Larkfield Road, East Northport, for allegedly robbing a woman and attempting to wrestle money from a man, both of whom had just withdrawn cash at two separate ATMs in East Northport earlier in the month.

According to police sources, on July 13, Cipoletti attempted to grab cash from the hands of a man who had just made a withdrawal from an ATM at the Bank of America located at 385 Larkfield Road, East Northport. The victim did not relinquish the money.

A short time later, it is alleged that Cipoletti entered the passenger side of a vehicle parked at an ATM at Chase Bank, 271 Larkfield Road, East Northport, and told the woman driver that he had a gun. He demanded money and the woman surrendered cash.  Cipoletti then reportedly fled the scene on foot.

Following an investigation by Second Squad detectives, Cipoletti was arrested at 4:22 p.m. yesterday and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Attempted Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He was held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.

This is not Cipoletti’s first brush with authorities. Court records indicate that he was arrested on May 18, 2011, and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is due back in Court on that charge on August 17, 2011.
