Conte: Green Homes Company to Generate Dollars, Jobs for Local Community

Assemblyman Jim Conte (R,I,C,WF–Huntington Station) seen above with YouthBuild Long Island students from YouthBuild’s E3 Training Center, attended the recent announcement by Power Home Remodeling Group’s executives that their company plans to expand over the next two years, a move which would result in the creation of nearly 200 good- paying jobs in the area.  The company specializes in making homes more energy efficient, a feature extremely attractive to Long Island homeowners struggling with high energy costs.

“Power Home Remodeling Group’s expansion will help create hundreds of local jobs, while helping to boost property values in the Long Island housing market by making homes greener,” said Conte. “Residents who have had their homes renovated by this company will save money in energy costs while doing something positive for the environment and future generations of Long Islanders.”

In addition to creating jobs, Power Home Remodeling Group is working to strengthen the community. During the event, the group presented a $10,000 grant to YouthBuild Long Island, a United Way community-development and green-job training program for at-risk youth.

“Power Home Remodeling is already having a tremendous impact on the local community,” said Conte. “It is my hope that by utilizing the economic development tools enacted in this year’s budget such as Recharge New York and the new Economic Advisory Councils, we can attract more companies like Power Home Remodeling and create more good-paying private-sector jobs on Long Island.”
