Last night in Hauppauge at the Suffolk County Democratic convention, Dr. William Spencer received the Democratic Nomination in the race for Legislative District 18.
Committee members of the Democratic Party threw their votes behind Dr. Spencer, who won a vote in what became a two way race between himself and Steve Rossetti by an approximately 2 to 1 margin.
Democratic Activist James Kelly was also in the running, however elected to drop his nomination before the vote, citing a lack of support, according to county chairperson Richard Schaeffer in a speech made to LD 18 committee members before the vote.
Earlier in the evening, when asked for comment about why he’s running, Dr. Spencer stated, “I care about the town…with challenges that we face we need people who will get in there, roll up their sleeves, and get involved.”

Any interest in addressing the issues that got the school closed in the first place? No need to worry now Doc, JAI will be opened, no worries for your slumlord friends, no issues will be addressed thanks to getting Spector elected to BOE. There is plenty of room for all the new housing projects because it is fine to have 40 in a class as long as it is in SD 3. Not to mention Franks bag man (your friend) is free to work on getting you elected now that he has finished working on the Spector campaign.
