Seahawks Give The Devils Their Doo

Warriors in search of a cure; Mary,Donna,Paul,Marie,Matthew,Makayla, and Jim McDermott with Kathy Filsche,Codi Feverzeig, and Zach Mollo

Paul McDermott, head coach for the Huntington High school’s Blue Devil’s Lacrosse team arranged a great afternoon for local lax fans. The McDermott family, who have been personally effected by diabetes, held a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by putting together two long time “friendly ” rivals; the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks and the Huntington Blue Devils.  The efforst of all involved were a big success.  The stands were full of families and students with plenty of amiable trash talk in the air.  It was  exciting to watch two talented teams battle it out with highly impressive speed, dexterity and good sportsmanship.  It could have gone either way today.  The Blue Devils lead through the first half of the game until Cold Spring Harbor tied it up and then eeked out  the final goal in the last two minutes for a 6 to 5 win.   Have no fear, if you missed the game but would still like to support the McDermott family in their quest to end juvenile diabetes you can still send in a donation for JDRF  to Paul McDermott , 29 Tennyson Road , Greenlawn NY 11740
